GDPR INFORMATION NOTICE for participants of the Online Chemistry Course 2026/2027 and their parents or legal guardians

Personal data are processed for the purpose of taking steps prior to entering into a contract and for the conclusion and performance of the contract concerning participation in the Online Chemistry Course 2026/2027, including the organisation of lessons, communication with the participant or their parent/legal guardian, provision of educational materials and payment processing – pursuant to Article 6(1)(b) GDPR.
Personal data may also be processed in order to comply with legal obligations imposed on the Controller, in particular tax and accounting obligations – pursuant to Article 6(1)(c) GDPR.
To the extent necessary for the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims, personal data may be processed on the basis of the Controller’s legitimate interests – Article 6(1)(f) GDPR.
The Controller may process, in particular, the participant’s first and last name, the details of a parent or legal guardian in the case of a minor participant, e-mail address, telephone number, information necessary for the provision and settlement of the Course, as well as data contained in correspondence relating to the Course.
Personal data may be disclosed to entities supporting the Controller in conducting her business activities, solely to the extent necessary for the provision of specific services, including, in particular, providers of e-mail services, IT services, platforms used to conduct online lessons, accounting services, payment services and hosting services, as well as entities authorised to receive personal data under applicable law.
Where the Controller uses IT service providers or platforms whose infrastructure involves the transfer of personal data outside the European Economic Area, such transfers will take place only in accordance with the GDPR and using the data protection safeguards required by law.
Personal data relating to the performance of the contract will be retained for the duration of the contract and subsequently for the period required by law or necessary for the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims. Tax and accounting records will be retained for the period required under the applicable regulations.
Subject to the conditions set out in the GDPR, the data subject has the right to access their personal data, rectify or erase their data, restrict processing, receive and transfer their data and – where processing is based on a legitimate interest – object to the processing.
Where personal data are processed on the basis of consent, such consent may be withdrawn at any time without affecting the lawfulness of processing carried out before its withdrawal.
The data subject has the right to lodge a complaint with the supervisory authority – the President of the Personal Data Protection Office (Prezes Urzędu Ochrony Danych Osobowych) – if they believe that the processing of their personal data infringes the GDPR.
Providing personal data necessary for the conclusion and performance of the contract is voluntary; however, failure to provide such data may make it impossible to conclude the contract or participate in the Course.
Personal data processed in connection with the Course will not be used to make decisions concerning the participant based solely on automated processing that would produce legal effects concerning them or similarly significantly affect them.
